Central Valley Wine Region

The Central Valley wine region in California stretches 300 miles starting east of the San Francisco Bay in the central California valley and extending south through the Sacramento and San Joaquin Valleys, all the way to Bakersfield. One of the state’s most fertile growing regions, the Central Valley is tucked between California’s coastal mountain range and the Sierra Nevada and produces over 70% of the state’s wine grapes.

The area includes a number of AVAs including: Clarksburg, Diablo Grande, Dunnigan Hills, Lodi, Madera, Merritt Island, River Junction and Salado Creek.
