About Us

I’ve always had a fascination for wine.  In the beginning visiting wineries it felt a bit overwhelming.  At the time my thoughts about wine involved a little snobbery.  I was concerned about going to a winery or restaurant to taste wine.  Oh, to order wine at a restaurant, please don’t make me smell the cork and taste a little wine for approval.  Like I knew what I was doing.

I started reading books about wine.  Living in California I had the opportunity to visit wineries.  Whether alone or with friends these little day or weekend trips gave me confidence and helped to build my palate to really appreciate wine.

One of the fun things about visiting wineries is the opportunity to relax with friends, take in nature and savor the wine.  Trying various varietals, the chance to talk to the winery owner or an experience wine staffer is always a learning experience.

I believe visiting wineries and not just sitting at home enjoying wine is a great adventure.  I purchase wines from my visits to enjoy at home.  A winery experience will give you a better chance to grow your palate, understand techniques of tasting wine and a great appreciation.  This is why I created this site, for people to have the opportunity to find a winery near them.  For a weekend, on a vacation or business trip this guide of wineries can help you find wineries to visit.
